The world is all abuzz with excitement about The Jungle Book remake, which is set to release in mid April.
About The Jungle Book
Directed by Jon Favreau (of ‘Chef’ fame), the movie is a retelling of Disney’s 1967 film of the same name. It features the voices of Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken and introduces Neel Sethi as Mowgli.
The film will be releasing in India on April 8th, ahead of the US release date. Yesterday, Disney released a brief trailer of Shere Khan’s first whiff of Mowgli:
Seems like it’ll be an exciting movie with beautiful graphics, doesn’t it? We can’t wait.
The Fruit Salad
In a tribute to the upcoming film, we’ve decided to share a fruit salad recipe, inspired by Baloo’s ‘Bare Necessities’. The salad, adapted from Food In Literature, is a combination of papayas (paw paws), nuts, bananas (because Baloo loves his bananas) and sugar. Give it a try and have it as an appetiser to a meal!
- 1 red papayaskinned, seeded and roughly chopped
- 4 small bananasroughly chopped
- 1/4cup pistachios
- 1/4cup Almonds
- 1 limejuiced
- 3/4cup Thin coconut milk
- 1/2cup orange juice
- 2tsp white sugar
- Gently toss the papaya, banana and nuts together.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the coconut milk, orange juice and lime juice.
- Place the fruits in a serving bowl and pour the dressing over them.
- Gently toss until combined.
- Sprinkle the sugar over the salad and serve.
